I’ve always had a passion for helping people.
I am a psychic medium, a Reiki Master, and an initiated priestess of Yemaya, the African Goddess of compassion, motherhood and the ocean. I have been providing Reiki services to students, staff and faculty at Berklee College and at Emerson College since 2016. I am also a jazz pianist and a professor at Berklee College of Music. My performance experience includes radio and television appearances with my group SpiritJazz, a concert tour of South America as a Jazz Ambassador for the US State Department, performances with the Pittsburgh Symphony as a percussionist under Andre Previn, and shows featuring Melba Moore, Nancy Wilson and the Fifth Dimension.
I have written six books: Damn Near White: An African American Family’s Rise from Slavery to Bittersweet Success and They Raised Me Up: A Black Single Mother and the Women Who Inspired Her, both published by the University of Missouri Press. Melody for Murder, Mojo for Murder and Death at a Seance, all published by Pen-L Publishing, and Tips for Singers: Performing, Auditioning and Rehearsing (Hal Leonard Publications)
I live to bring compassion into the world. As a healer and priestess of Yemaya, the African goddess of the Ocean, I embody the unconditional love of the Divine Mother and give voice to the Ancestors who guide and protect us.
I love by channeling the words and music given to me by Yemaya and the Ancestors. Through mediumship, writing and musical performance, I invite my audience to experience a deeper level of empathy, both for themselves and others.
I lead by creating opportunities to heal the wound of separateness - separateness from other people, from our Ancestors, and from our intrinsic divinity. Only when we know that we are part of a Oneness that never dies are we free to live to our fullest potential.
I offer Reiki, psychic advice and mediumship in person and via Skype.
